Good morning, here my first help request : I've tried to read some of the topics but my dutch is not yet so good and maybe I've missed something. I've a C5 ph2 Exclusive with RT3 systeem and I would like to add my iphone as aux1 source. yesterday I've tried to use my apple original av cable on the av inputs in the kastje and it works fine, great audio and video, but..over 5kms audio and video switch off and the stereo turns automatically on the radio fm. So I think it is not possible to use the av inputs, even because you can't use your multi functional display ( for navigatie or something else). Looking around I've read that the Citroen garage should enable the aux1 input on the systeem and then it will be possible to installa specific cable and use the ipod as aux1 : is this correct ? How much this costs ? Are the Citroen dealers already aware of this modifications ? Are there any others easiest solutions for this ? Thanks you all in advance for your answers Lorenzo |

If you want to use the original aux source like you described there is a way around the km-security imposed by Citroen ... you can find a company ( navinc ) on marktplaats who are able to bypass this restriction. http://link.marktplaats.nl/304195215 Another method is installing an adapter that plugs in the cd-changer output ,if i'm not mistaken Wimmie has a system like this ... ( you have to ask whether it's RT3 compatible ) http://link.marktplaats.nl/304204264 I would go for the first option, advantage being that you're also able to watch DVD/TV , making full use of the in-car colour screen ![]() |

Hi Menno, first thanks for your quick reply. Then in the meanwhile I've called the Citroen dealer and they told me that with more or less 100 euro I can have the aux1 open and the cable installed. I would really prefer to go for the first your solution but if I'm not wrong I can't then use the navigator while I'm driving because the av is on on the screen..is this correct ? Thanks Lorenzo |

Don't really have an answer to your question, but i would guess it's either one or the other .... send the guys at navinc an e-mail and you'll know for sure ![]() |

Im afraid you're being ripped off. If you only want to enable audio in , any cit dealer can do that in 5 mins by enabling a third audio source in the computer which uses the same inputs as the external AV input). This one you can access by repeatedly pressing source (radio=> CD/Mp3 => CD changer => aux => radio). Works at any speed. No extra cable neccessary. Should cost max 20 euros for labour and equipment usage. Alternatively, cou can buy a module (icelink) which interfaces the ipod to you CD changer input, giving you the opportunity to change tracknumbers on you ipod by the radio controls. You'll loose the cd changer though. This costs 100 euros+ Third and last, you can hack your RT3 to remove the 5 kmh limit on the AV port. Only usefull if you want to watch video whilst driving. Expensive and crude hack. |

that sounds great ! This means that the Cit dealer only have to enable my 3rd source on the external av source I have in the dashboard and I can use my original apple cable plugging in only red and white ones and tap this sequence (radio=> CD/Mp3 => CD changer => aux => radio). And this is really the solution I prefer because I don't need to enable videos while I'm driving and I do not need any other installation. thanks a lot |

In my current C5 I have a Parrot Carkit on which you can connect your Ipod and USB stick. I couldn't use the adaptor on my current system because I have no CD-changer. That adaptor faked the CD-changer in my last C5 (was a RT-2 system) |
